PCCD Scholarship applications for the 2017 Prevention Conference now closed


The scholarship application deadline for 2017 has passed
Award notifications will be sent no later than May 12, 2017. 

If you have applied for a scholarship, please do not register for the conference until AFTER you receive your notification. 


In order to expand the possibility of attending the 2017 CPA Conference to many agencies and coalitions that would not be able to attend due to lack of funding, the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PPCD) is generously supporting the conference by offering up to 50 scholarships.


What will the scholarship cover? 

  • All conference fees including optional Pre-Conference Professional Development Day (limited avail.) and Main Conference
  • Hotel expenses for recipients living more than 50 miles away from State College for up to 3 nights at the Penn Stater Hotel

Who’s eligible to apply?

  • No currently PCCD-funded agency is eligible
  • No one already registered for the 2017 conference is eligible to apply
  • Only one scholarship per agency/coalition 
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • Preference will be given to applicants who apply to attend the entire Main Conference and Pre-Conference (while still available)

This annual award is given in memory of Maggie Marcopul who was an extraordinary person and prevention professional who influenced the prevention field in Pennsylvania for more than three decades.

 

Nominees for this award will have made a significant contribution to the prevention field through 

service, leadership, political advocacy, and education.


This award included tuition and lodging (approximate value of $760) for the CPA Conference in State College. Successful nominee will be notified by April 28th.

Now accepting nominations for the PA Coalition of the Year

Deadline: May 12, 2017


      This award recognizes a community coalition: 

  • with a strong understanding of the risk-focused      planning process, 
  • that has identified Risk and Protective factors, 
  • that has implemented evidence-based strategies to address these factors, and 
  • that has documented population-level public          health improvement and positive youth                  development.
